I chose the topic of traveling because after spending the fall semester of my junior year abroad, I can truly say traveling and experiencing new cultures is something I am so passionate about. Being able to experience fashion in a different light in cultures other than our own changed my perspective on what I want to do moving forward within the fashion industry. Being able to travel all around Europe was an absolute dream come true and it challenged and changed me for the better. I cannot imagine if I did not end up studying abroad. Making connections with people and embracing the differences of other countries was so eye opening.
Throughout my time abroad, I took pictures and videos of absolutely everything I saw, ate, drank, and experienced. The thought of being able to collect all of the different aspects of my trip in one place is so exciting to me. It would be very easy for me to collect different forms of media and create blog posts based on this topic throughout the course of the semester. Anything from pictures in front of the Eiffel tower, to spending a day at Oktoberfest, or sailing along the Amalfi Coast, it will all be posted here.
For the different projects in this class, I plan to incorporate images of a globe as well as a map with pins to mark the different cities and countries that I was able to visit during that time. More specifically, using those ideas for the logo project. I can also use the overall ideas from those graphics in the collage project. I also plan to use my videos from the trip and put them in a short compilation highlighting the best moments from studying abroad.
