I decided to highlight the most vibrant aspects of studying abroad for me. The country I lived in, the views, the food, and the people I experienced it all with. This relates to my course theme because I have spent the entire semester referencing memories from abroad as well as highlighting the key points from my experience. I used voiceovers to describe the different videos and give details from my semester.I went with a simple flowing video, with one video showing each of the main points. To keep the video authentic, I used all videos gathered during my time abroad. I felt this made the video more interesting and fun to watch. I placed the videos in the software, then trimmed them to make them fit within the time restraints. The program overall was very confusing and it took me awhile to produce my final video. I did not use any materials that were not my own, or that were not edited by myself. I took the advice and critiques and applied them.

The voiceovers I am planning to add are going to be me discussing what I have learned and the highlights for me. To keep the video authentic, I used all videos gathered during my time abroad. I felt this made the video more interesting and fun to watch. I placed the videos in the software, then trimmed them to make them fit within the time restraints. I muted all the videos, but plan to go in and add visual effects and transitions, along with the voiceovers as previously mentioned. The program overall was very confusing and it took me awhile to just do what I have produced above. So I can only imagine how much more time will go into producing the final video. I did not use any materials that were not my own, or that were not edited by myself. I am interested to see how much more I can apply to my final video as well as making it more personal to myself and for the viewers and my peers.

I’ll be using different clips from abroad with voice overs from people who went abroad with me talking about the different moments and trips. I have to gather more videos from my friends, and the voice overs before I determine the exact timing.

When fine tuning my final audio story, I took a moment to think about what the most interesting questions would be as well as the most basic questions that people would want to know when they think of the topic of studying abroad. After thinking about if I wanted to change the questions or add more in, I decided against it because I felt the questions I already asked were comprehensive and touched on all of the important points I wanted to hit. These questions ranged from favorite place you visited & why, favorite memory from studying abroad, what did studying abroad teach you about yourself that you didn’t know before, and what was one thing you wish you knew about studying abroad before you went. I think the questions I asked allowed for a broad range of answers which will be entertaining from a listener’s perspective. I received this feedback from my peers as well. All of the girls I interviewed were open and honest which made the audio story flow naturally.

The people I chose to interview have all studied abroad through Kent’s program and all did so for different reasons. Some traveled abroad with me, and others did so at other various times. I also thought of interviewing my friends from other schools to get their perspective, but kept the original people so that it would appeal more to the people who listened from the class. I took the advice of adding in into music, and added music at the end as well. Overall, I enjoyed learning the process of Adobe Audition and fine tuning the different aspects of my audio story. My favorite part of this assignment was listening to my classmate’s projects and learning more about them, then taking their critiques to finish my final draft.

I could pose questions such as what the biggest challenge was when studying abroad, or what was one place you unfortunately could not make it to during your time abroad. I could also ask questions about the classes there and the difference between schooling in America vs Europe. I look forward to taking my peer’s comments into account and making my draft into a final version.

When making my logo I wanted to incorporate the globe because my blog is all about traveling and the experiences I’ve had while abroad. I also incorporated my blog name. I did not use any sites for research, just looked at a graphic of a globe to figure out the proportions. Originally, I put my name in the center of the globe because I was at the center of everything, more particularly traveling, during my semester abroad. The main change I made was changing the location of my text to around the globe. I move the typography to the place it is for the representation that I went around the globe. I got this idea from the peer reviews that were given to me on the discussion board. I went back and forth with changing the colors of the globe like I had mentioned in the previous blog post. I tried to change them to colors that fit my personality more but decided against it so that the idea of my logo was not lost. I like my logo and think it could be scaled to be smaller or possibility be bigger. I think It is direct and to the point so readers will not be confused when seeing my logo for the first time. I like the way my logo turned out, and I think that it is easily read. Overall, I didn’t have a hard time formulating the basic idea of my logo but actually creating it proved to be a bit of a challenge. I enjoyed using illustrator again to make a more personalized design, but the program is very confusing and very hard to use at different aspects.

When I go to edit and update my design, there are many things I would change. I like the overall concept, but I think I would change the colors of the globe to different ones that fit my personality more instead like pinks and blues so that it is more personalized. I also think I would change how my name is written in the globe. I don’t think the way the title is presented is ideal, so I would look into different ways to adjust that. I think that there are many things I could do to improve how my logo translate to different viewers. I think my logo is balanced in a way that it is easy to read, but it could be a lot better. I would also like to crop the art board so that only the globe is showing, not the white around it. Overall, I didn’t have a hard time formulating the basic idea of my logo but actually creating it proved to be a bit of a challenge. I enjoyed using illustrator again to make a more personalized design but the program is very confusing and very hard to use at different aspects. I will dive into more videos on how to improve the text used in my logo so it can potentially be scaled and used in different aspects on my website.
